It happened in the spring of the year, at the time when kings go out to battle, that David sent Joab and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the people of Ammon and besieged Rabbah. But David remained at Jerusalem. 2 Samuel 11:1

Just when we thought it as time to relax…. It is time to go to war. Why? Well, if we look at the above scripture – the phrase ‘in the spring of the year’ literally translated means – when the year has expired. The Hebrew year of 5771 has just finished or expired. Rosh Hashanah marked the beginning of the new year of 5772. It is spring in the southern hemisphere right now. That means that it is time to go to war – the hebrew word for time in the scripture is ‘eth’ which is the female form of time which denotes a window of time. So we are in a season or window of time in which God expects the kings to go to war. But who are the kings? The word here is taken from 2 root words:
1. melek – king
2. malak – messenger or angel (can also be translated as apostle)

The Old Testament is given to us for a type and a shadow – so spiritually, this Scripture would indicate that when the year ends is the time when apostles or kings go to war. But why now? Well, At Yom Kippur, the judgements of God over our life for the coming year were sealed. God decided what we would do, what battles we would fight and what territory He would measure to us for the coming year. The judgements were made and the books were sealed on Yom Kippur. Now is the time to go to war to begin to take that territory that has been measured to us.

But we have just come through such a difficult season… we fasted and prayed and really pressed into God so that we could be written in the Books for life at Rosh Hashanah. We worked hard during the Summit and experienced tremendous breakthroughs. Now that we have qualified, surely we get some time to rest? Wrong thinking! We just got promoted and the devil is NOT HAPPY!!! New levels mean new devils and they are all ready to take us out before we even know what is happening. So if you feel like you just got knocked out in the last few weeks and your head is reeling and you are not too sure what is happening… you are in a new level. It is time to pick yourself up off the ground and report for duty. The army is going to war to get its territory and you need to be in your place.

We are going to take territory TOGETHER as the army of God in this new season. As we take the territory corporately, you will get your territory individually. But there are no individual successes without a corporate success. So, find your place in the army, do what you are commissioned to do and keep fighting the good fight of faith. Do not break ranks – I did  a whole teaching on this last Friday and I recommend that you get it as I do not have space to go into everything here.

We are in the season of war – you are in the army and we need you in position. DO NOT listen to the enemy that says,  “You are not needed in this army. What do you really contribute? You are not as anointed as so-and-so.” These are the LIES of the enemy. Take those thoughts captive and make them obedient unto Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5) – this is how we warfare! You are needed, you are part of the army and we need you in your place in order for us to achieve all that God has measured to us in the season!

Do not be caught unprepared – Understand the season we are in, find your rank and position, stay aligned with God and His representatives in your life –  The kings are going to war…
