PSALM 1
“Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of the scornful.” (verse 1)
Father, I come to repent for myself, my family and my community – God, I cry out to You! We have sinned against You and have walked in counsels of the ungodly. We have consulted with familiar spirits, with counsellors which are not of Your heart and kingdom. We have consulted with witchcraft, sangomas and other spirits and walked out the ungodly counsels to feed the lusts of our own hearts – God, I repent for I have done this against You, against Your Son, against Your Holy Spirit and I have transgressed against You. Break my heart God for there are wickedness in my heart, break my heart God for the wicked counsels in my family generationally and in the community – Turn Your ear to us and have mercy on us Oh God – have mercy on us.
God, I, my family and my community have been part of Psalm 2:2 “the kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers counsel together” – I repent for wanting to overthrow Your counsels, wanting to overthrow Your kingdom. I repent for standing with the kings of the earth, I repent for myself, my generations for standing with and agreeing with the counsels of the principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world and the spirits of spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12)
I repent for myself, my generations and my community for standing, walking out and making ways/pathways, habits, setting courses of life, an immoral way of life, actions which stand against Your principles. Our ways have led us into captivity and we have transgressed Your laws . Oh God, we are guilty – Have mercy Oh Lord on us – rescue us, forgive us, we have sinned against You.
We have despised Your Sons sacrifice, we have despised Your sacrifice – we desperately need You to forgive us and intervene – without You we are lost. Please Oh God, have mercy on us. John 14:6 says “Jesus is the way, the truth and life and no man comes unto you the Father, except by Christ.” God in Your mercy, please help us to find the way in Christ, the truth in Christ and to return to You the Father, through Christ.
Father we have sinned, transgressed and created seats for the scornful through our wickedness. We have generationally built seats of authority, given to principalities and powers because of our wicked hearts refusing to follow after You.
Father, we have been filled with our own arrogance, pride, sense of self worth, we have promoted ungodly spiritual counsels to give us our self worth, self righteousness – ungodly motives are wrong and wickedness against You and I am coming to take responsibility and repent for myself, my family and my community. 2 Peter 3:3 says “knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts…” (Scoffers can be false teachers, people who trade with the word, use the word deceive others, are arrogant, boastful, proud, haughty)
“But his delight is in the law of the Lord and in His law does he meditate day and night.” (verse 2)
Father, I repent for myself, my family and my community for not delighting in Your law, Your precepts, Your covenant – for not allowing Your Word to be formed in my innermost parts. I repent, for misusing Your word to get what I want – I repent for all manipulation and twisting of Your Word to suit my desires. I need a new heart O God! Forgive me for the wickedness, transgression and iniquity formed on the earth because of me and my generational unrighteousness which has watered and planted and nourished unrighteousness before You.
Father please grant me a clean heart with Your laws written on my heart – I want to delight in Your laws, through Your Son Jesus Christ who is the fulfillment of Your laws. I can do nothing without You working it in me – change me Oh God, change my generations, change my community. Save us, sanctify us Oh God! Forgive us and wash us by the Blood of your Son.
“And he shall be like a tree planted by rivers of water that bring forth his fruit in his season, his leaf also shall not wither and whatsoever he does shall prosper.” (verse 3)
Father, I repent for myself, my family, my community for wanting for be our own trees, for polluting Your word, twisting it, creating a different river and planting trees by defiled waters. I repent, Father, for every tree, including myself, which I and my generations have been responsible for and we have brought forth wrong fruit and not been healing for the nations. (Revelation 22:2). I repent for being connected to a wrong source – Father, have mercy on us. Connect us to the Tree of Life – Your Son – and use us for the healing of the nations. Have mercy on us Oh God.
Isaiah 61:3 I repent for our generational prayers /intercession /our mourning has not always been of Your Spirit and for Your glory. Please forgive us Oh God. I pray for this scripture to become truth in me, in my family generationally and in the community. God grant us Your intercession for our families, our community and our nation and make us the planting of the Lord, trees of righteousness, drinking from the water of the truth, the Word who is Christ.
“The ungodly dare not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.” (verse 4 & 5)
Father, Your righteousness and Your judgments are true and just. We would be like chaff which the wind of your Spirit blows away because of our unrighteousness and filthiness before You.
We could not stand before You, nor come into Your presence. God, please forgive us and have mercy on us, for we have sinned against You and the chaff is in us, You see it, we cannot hide it from You and we are coming to You as we are, and asking You for mercy, forgiveness, blow the chaff from us, but keep us in Your Son. Help us to stand in Your Son, transform us, form your righteousness in us Oh God – by Your Spirit change us to be able to stand in Your judgments in Your Son, and to be able to come into Your presence and stand in the congregation of the righteous, that You will be glorified in us, in our family generationally, in the communities we represent and in this nation. May the Blood of Christ speak a better sound over us than the blood of bulls, goats and other blood.
Psalm 35:5 says the Lord chases them – Lord have mercy on us, do not chase us from Your presence – Forgive us, draw us to You Lord – for if You draw us, we are coming Lord to fulfil Your hearts desires. We give up our desires, we lay them down – we want to please You, we want to desire what You desire Lord.
“For the Lord knows the way of the righteous but the way of the ungodly shall perish.” (verse 6)
Father, You know the way of the righteous but the way of the ungodly leads to death. Father, we are repenting for the wicked ways in us and You are just and righteous – our plea is mercy and forgiveness and transformation through the Blood of Your Son, Jesus Christ – Please God forgive us, transform us, do not leave us as we are. May we be transformed and conformed to the image of Your Son and Your original intent and purpose through the power of the Blood of our Saviour and Redeemer, Your Son and perfect Sacrifice, Jesus Christ and by the working of your Holy Spirit.

It is the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions do not fail. They are new every morning: great is your faithfulness O God. The Lord is my portion says my soul, therefore will I hope in Him. (Lamentations 3:22 – 24 )
