We are working through scriptures and repenting for the iniquity and wickedness formed in us through all the ages. The iniquity empowers an ungodly antichrist system to operate and as we repenting, we are taking responsibility for the sin, transgression and iniquity as individuals, as families, generationally, as the nation and as the Body of Christ.
PART 3 – NUMBER 1:
2 Thessalonians 2: New King James Version (NKJV)
1 Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, 2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. 3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? 6 And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
13 But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth, 14 to which He called you by our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle.
16 Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace, 17 comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work.
2 Thessalonians 2: The Message (MSG)
2 1-3 Now, friends, read these next words carefully. Slow down and don’t go jumping to conclusions regarding the day when our Master, Jesus Christ, will come back and we assemble to welcome him. Don’t let anyone shake you up or get you excited over some breathless report or rumored letter from me that the day of the Master’s arrival has come and gone. Don’t fall for any line like that.
3-5 Before that day comes, a couple of things have to happen. First, the Apostasy. Second, the debut of the Anarchist, a real dog of Satan. He’ll defy and then take over every so-called god or altar. Having cleared away the opposition, he’ll then set himself up in God’s Temple as “God Almighty.” Don’t you remember me going over all this in detail when I was with you? Are your memories that short?
6-8 You’ll also remember that I told you the Anarchist is being held back until just the right time. That doesn’t mean that the spirit of anarchy is not now at work. It is, secretly and underground. But the time will come when the Anarchist will no longer be held back, but will be let loose. But don’t worry. The Master Jesus will be right on his heels and blow him away. The Master appears and—puff!—the Anarchist is out of there.
9-12 The Anarchist’s coming is all Satan’s work. All his power and signs and miracles are fake, evil sleight of hand that plays to the gallery of those who hate the truth that could save them. And since they’re so obsessed with evil, God rubs their noses in it—gives them what they want. Since they refuse to trust truth, they’re banished to their chosen world of lies and illusions.
13-14 Meanwhile, we’ve got our hands full continually thanking God for you, our good friends—so loved by God! God picked you out as his from the very start. Think of it: included in God’s original plan of salvation by the bond of faith in the living truth. This is the life of the Spirit he invited you to through the Message we delivered, in which you get in on the glory of our Master, Jesus Christ.
15-17 So, friends, take a firm stand, feet on the ground and head high. Keep a tight grip on what you were taught, whether in personal conversation or by our letter. May Jesus himself and God our Father, who reached out in love and surprised you with gifts of unending help and confidence, put a fresh heart in you, invigorate your work, enliven your speech.
“History works in cycles, but as each cycle is completed we are carried nearer the goal and consummation of history. There have been, then, and there exist today, many antichrists, but these are only so many forecasts and foreshadowings of the one who is yet to appear.” *
Shaken in mind or troubled – shaken in Greek 4531 means to waver, agitate, topple, a motion produced by winds, storms, waves. To cast down from one’s secure and happy state. Root word is 4525 Greek. The tossing or swell of the sea.
Troubled is Greek 2360 meaning to wail, make a noise by outcry, be troubled in mind, to be frightened.
2 Timothy 1:7 King James Version (KJV) : 7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (4995 and 4998).
4995 sōphronismós (a masculine noun derived from 4998/sōphrōn, “truly moderate”) – properly, safe-minded, i.e. prudent (“sensible”) behavior that correctly “fits” a situation, i.e. is apt because acting out God’s will. That is, what He calls sound reasoning (used only in 2 Tim 1:7).
4998 sōphrōn (an adjective, derived from sōos, “sound, safe” and 5424/phrēn, “inner outlook regulating outward behavior”) – properly, safe (sound) because moderated; prudent because correctly (divinely) balanced – which is very distinct from being “the middle of the road!” – Root word of 4995
falling away : 646 apostasía (from 868/aphístēmi, “leave, depart,” which derives from 575/apó, “away from” and 2576/kammýō, “stand”) – properly, departure (implying desertion); apostasy; (literally) “a leaving, departing from a previous standing.”
Let’s repent regarding the following:
- Being unstable, double minded, disorderly, not able to stand, building out of instability. My heart being unstable in Christ. Now I love Him and follow Him, then I am rushing in another direction. My mind is not settled in Christ. The way in me is not solid nor stable and is producing a way of life that is not reflecting Christ nor His kingdom.
“A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” James 1:8
Greek 182 akatástatos – unsettled, unstable and hence disorderly (out of control, in tumult). See181 (akatastasía).
181 akatastasía (from “not,” 2596/katá, “down” and stasis, “status, standing,” cf. 2476/hístēmi) – properly, what cannot stand (remain steady); what lacks stability (disorder); (figuratively) unsettled, unstable (especially in tumult), bringing on disorder (disturbance).
- Repent for leaving, departing, deserting the original mandate and purposes of God which had been laid up in us when He formed us according to Psalm 139.
- Repent for all the adultery and turning away from Christ through fear, instability, unfaithfulness, deception.
- Repent for all the pride, haughtiness, arrogance, self-worship, selfishness. Self-gratification. Self-righteousness. It’s all about self, my lusts, my desires, the motives in my heart which is all about what I want as a person, as a nation as a community, as a body or group of people. This is a sound which resonates and is in agreement with the antichrist and empowers a kingdom to operate through me, the nation, the community, the generations.
- Repent for being part of the empowering and growth of the ‘mystery of iniquity’ which has been growing through the ages.
- Repent for the iniquity and strongholds which have been formed in me generationally, producing fruit and harvests for the antichrist system and kingdom. (Mathew 13:30 – 40) Tares : spurious wheat, darnel; a plant that grows in Palestine which resembles wheat in many ways but is worthless. 2215 zizánion (plural, tares/zizania) – a tare (darnel); (figuratively) a pseudo-believer (false Christian) who is fruitless, i.e. living without faith from God and hence “all show and no go!”
